These consents are optional. You can sign up to and use the Crew App without giving them. You can give each consent below separately and withdraw it at any time in the app settings or by writing to info@sailatlas.app.
HeyAtlas.ai LLC (Sail Atlas), a company established in the United States, mainly processes your Crew App data on the other legal bases explained in the Crew App Privacy Notice. This text covers only the processing we carry out when you have given your consent.
For each item you agree to below, you give your specific, informed, freely given and explicit consent under Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) of the GDPR (for users in the EEA and the UK) and Articles 5(1) and 6(2) of the KVKK (for users in Türkiye).
1. Usage analytics and session recording
What is processed: how you move through the app (taps, scrolls, screen changes), session recordings made of screen captures, in-app events, and technical information such as device, operating system and app version. Session recordings may include whatever is on your screen while recording.
Purpose: understanding how the app is used, finding and reproducing usability problems and errors, and improving the app.
Shared with: Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Clarity, United States) and Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry Session Replay, EU/Germany).
Retention: session recordings for up to 90 days; aggregated usage statistics for up to 13 months.
If you do not consent: analytics and session recording tools do not run for you. App errors are still monitored through technical error reports that contain no session recordings.
Consent statement: “I consent to my usage analytics and session recording data being processed to improve the Crew App and shared with Microsoft Clarity and Sentry for that purpose.”
2. Information that may count as health data
What is processed: your smoking status, if you choose to share it in your profile, and any medical certificates you choose to upload among your certificates (for example a seafarer medical certificate, ENG1 or a medical fitness certificate), including the information on those documents. This information may count as health data under Article 9 of the GDPR and Article 6 of the KVKK.
Purpose: showing this information in your crew profile so charter companies can match you to the needs of their boats and guests.
Who can see it:
- Your smoking status appears on your showcase, on your directory card in the crew pool and in the records of charter companies that add you to their crew.
- Medical certificates can be seen publicly on your showcase if its certificates section is visible, and by charter companies in the crew pool. You can hide that section in the showcase settings or delete the document at any time.
Retention: until you remove the information from your profile, withdraw your consent or delete your account. If you delete your account, it is deleted within 30 days.
If you do not consent: you do not need to, and should not, add this information to your profile. If you later withdraw your consent, we will remove it from your profile; for information a charter company has already copied into its own records, contact that company.
Consent statement: “I consent to the smoking status I choose to share in my profile and the medical certificates I upload being processed, limited to the purposes and recipients described.”
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw any of these consents, individually or together, at any time in the app settings or by writing to info@sailatlas.app from your registered email address. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.
Record of your consent
Every consent you give or withdraw is recorded as proof, together with the version of the text, the date and time and the app and device you used.
